Hello and welcome!
When you google the name “Snezana”, what pops up would be pictures of pretty Eastern European girls. But, no, I am first of all not European. This Snezana is Indonesian born-and-bred, with a full name of Snezana Swasti Brodjonegoro. But for as long as I could remember, I have been going around with the nick name Nena. So to find my presence online, you can also google “Nena Brodjonegoro”.
This blog contains all my writings – formal and informal, fiction and nonfiction, academic and leisure – about new media, PR, communications, and culture. Some may not be too analytical, but feel free to leave your comment..
I fell in love with new media (academically) 3 years ago when I studied about Marshall McLuhan at one of the prominent universities in Indonesia. The love continues to grow and to encompass many others: Howard Rheingold, Manuel Castells, Donna Haraway, Danah Boyd, and others. It also grow wider and wider, thanks to Facebook, my blog, Twitter, Koprol, my friends, my office, and last but not least, to LiU, where I spent two years devouring science, technology and society field.
Besides new media and communications, I have passion for teaching and sharing, thus I have been volunteering for Yayasan Bina Antarbudaya for 7 years now. I like standing among people and being the center of attention (yes, that, I admit) because what I share to them is meaningful and useful for them.
I also enjoy traveling a lot – though I won’t say that I am a “true” backpacker. I love seeing new places, breathing new scents, savoring new tastes, encountering new culture, shaking hands with new people, paying with different currency, posing for different backgrounds, learning new slang, riding new buses, subways, trains, and many more. Yes, I LOVE traveling!
And, I also love reading. Nuff said.
Well, that’s a (big) bit about me. Have a nice browse, and feel free to drop me a line.
